you’re already perfect

Find contentment, & you need nothing else.

‘Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.’ ~Lao Tzu

A lot of people come to Zen Habits (and read other personal development blogs and books) because they want to improve something about themselves. They’re not satisfied with their lives, they’re unhappy with their bodies, they want to be better people.

I know, because I was one of those people.

This desire to improve myself and my life was one of the things that led to Zen Habits. I’ve been there, and I can say that it leads to a lot of striving, and a lot of dissatisfaction with who you are and what your life is.

A powerful realization that has helped me is simply this: You’re already good enough, you already have more than enough, and you’re already perfect.

Try saying that to yourself, as corny as that might sound, just to see if it sounds true. Does it resonate as something you already believe (in which case, you can probably stop reading now), or does it not feel right? Do you feel like there are things you still need to improve?

The thing I’ve learned, and it’s not some new truth but an old one that took me much too long to learn, is that if you learn to be content with who you are and where you are in life, it changes everything.

Consider what changes:

You no longer feel dissatisfied with yourself or your life. You no longer spend so much time and energy wanting to change and trying to change. You no longer compare yourself to other people, and wish you were better. You can be happy, all the time, no matter what happens in the world around you.Instead of trying to improve yourself, you can spend your time helping others. You stop spending so much money on things that will supposedly improve your life. You can be smug about it, like me.

OK, the last bit was a joke, but the rest is true, in my experience.

And here’s another realization that I’ve written about before: You already have everything you need to be happy, right here and right now.

Do you have eyes that see? You have the ability to appreciate the beauty of the sky, of greenery, of people’s faces, of water. Do you have ears that hear? You have the ability to appreciate music, the sound of rainfall, the laughter of friends. You have the ability to feel rough denim, cool breezes, grass on bare feet … to smell fresh-cut grass, flowers, coffee … to taste a plum, a chili pepper, chocolate.

This is a miracle, and we take it for granted. Instead, we strive for more, when we already have everything. We want nicer clothes, cooler gadgets, bigger muscles, bigger boobies, flatter stomachs, bigger houses, cars with leather seats that talk to you and massage your butt. We’ve kinda gone insane that way.

The sane thing is to realize we don’t need any of that. We don’t need to improve our lives. We don’t need to improve ourselves, because we’re already perfect.

Once you accept this, it frees you.

You’re now free to do things, not because you want to be better, but because you love it. Because you’re passionate about it, and it gives you joy. Because it’s a miracle that you even can do it.

You’re already perfect. Being content with yourself means realizing that striving for perfection is based on someone else’s idea of what “perfect” is … and that that’s all bullshit. Perfect is who you are, not who someone else says you should be.

Also, as corny as it may sound, I love you, completely and unconditionally, and if everyone else in your world betrays and abandons you, you always have me. :)

Now stop reading this blog, and go be happy.

How will yourself to Success

One of the challenges of the human condition is gathering the strength and the courage to break the barriers that we set up our love confrontation with personal problems and challenges. It seems that avoid and fear the twin assassins to personal progress. Why is it that some of us may motivate us daily tasks and long-term objectives? Why is it that others of us often prevent, delay and waste valuable time agonizing about our inability to perform self-rewarding behavior?

The implication of "want our success" affects every aspect of our lives. Some of us desire to lose weight, change jobs, exercise, make new friends, or learn new skills, but create resistance affect our chances for a positive outcome. Why we choose the path of destructive behavior even though we know that another course of action our desired goals and a sense of accomplishment will bring?

The will to act must be greater than the power to resist. In other words, the urge to accomplish a task or goal create an inner dynamism to its strength is irresistible. For some, this means a mounting cascade of frustration and anger, or a feeling of being fed up with the status quo. The constructive passion to drowns out the inner voice of slowness. People often tell me that an inner voice is hounding them, until the scream sounds of the change are strong enough to break the deadlock.

Often people will change because of the way a pattern of previous failure to resist. They might say, "I've tried that route and it didn't work." They can view the motivation to change as an either/or process. "I'm 100% success or I'm a total lice." They can look out onto the subtle changes that are required to complete a task. Unrealistic goals and set the stage for failure. An additional obstacle can pop up when a the improvement start and facing a period of regression. The back-scroll can be regarded as a monumental setback in place of a part of the growth process and a full-on to give a new attempt.

Those who are unmotivated tend to harbor self-blame. They themselves for their inability to change will fault or itself will chastise for each behavioral setback. With a mindset of the victim-pose, the unmotivated person will say, "it's no use; It doesn't matter how hard I try, I will always come up short; It's simply my nature. " Self-blame is an excuse not to try. The self-centered focus is on personal failure instead of the impulse to continue in spite of failure.

Often people remain unmotivated because they are afraid of success. Those who consider losing weight could say: "what if I lost weight and starting to look more attractive? How would that affect the way others me? My friend would want to date me and I don't know if I'm ready for it! " The fear of success is often a tied to the safety net of the past.

The Foundation for themselves willing to success starts with the process of setting goals. A person must start with identifying what he really wants and needs. should be redrafted to reflect in a positive way of approach events. A friend who is not happy with her life was once told me, "I know that I am withdrawing from people and I think it is bad for me." What they really need to say is, "I need to feel connected to other people; I would like to find a way to make that happen. " How we made our way of thinking frame helps us to determine the ways in which we will act on them.

It is very difficult to move forward if you don't know where you're going. Setting realistic goals is essential to increase our self-motivation. Objectives must be identified and "segmented down" in smaller steps. This motivated less overwhelming and easier to manage.

Give Yourself permission to, is a key ingredient to the creation of motivation. Often people don't have a sense of inner permission because they have relied on others to lead their lives. The fact that they have depending on others to their life makes them feel incompetent and forward-moving change makes.

Fully functioning people don't wait, they're not put off, but they act. Life is too short. The fear of the passage of time can give us a sense of urgency about changing our lives and make things right. Such a sense of urgency may create the conditions for changing the quality of our character and behavior. We have not always will take us to success. Today is the day to redeem that we put on hold.

Motivational Story-amazing effects of positive thinking

One day, there was a Kingdom that was ruled by an emperor. He was assisted by the Prime Minister to him, management of the Kingdom. The Prime Minister was also a consultant and a good friend of the Emperor, because the Emperor always asked for its opinion or advice about anything, and he always accompanied by the Emperor hunting in the forest. One of the favorite hobbies of the emperor was hunting rabbits. The Prime Minister was a unique attribute. He was so positive in any situation that happened there with them. When he was asked by his Emperor on his opinion, was his answer only a-"it is good."

When it rains and the Emperor of the Prime Minister asked about that, he replied: "it is good, my Emperor. We will not warm feel, we are protected from the drought and the plants will grow fertilely. "

When it's hot, no rain fell and the Emperor asked him, he replied: "it is good, my Emperor. If it doesn't rain can Emperor go into the forest to hunt some rabbits. "

When the Prime Minister was asked by the Emperor, his answer was always good, good, good, good and good. The emperor was sometimes a bit disappointed with the response from the Prime Minister. The Minister believed that everything was good and there were always positive sides behind something that happened.

One day, the Emperor accidentally cut his finger that he lost his little finger. And as usual, the Prime Minister said, "it is good." And the emperor was in great anger and hatred. The Prime Minister was sent to prison because he said that it was good, even if the Emperor had lost his little finger. The Emperor felt that his Prime Minister was rude and offended him.

One day, he wanted to go hunting. Because the Prime Minister was in prison, he decided to go alone in the forest to hunt some rabbits. He was out of luck because he still had not found the rabbit. But he didn't give up and continued to run and search. When the day dusk Emperor can not find the way home because he had run too far. He lost in the forest. He cried loudly if anyone was to hear his voice. After a while came a group of men to the emperor. However, she looked strange, that they brought Spears, looked like primitive men. Then they raised their Spears aimed at him and because the Emperor did not fight with all of them, he would only den surrendered when they caught, bound and then brought him away. He was brought in village, a primitive village where they lived inch they gathered sticks and put them around the emperor. The Emperor knew he would be burned by fire. He was grieved because he realized that he would die that way. Suddenly, one of the primitive attention to his hand and realized that one of his fingers had been lost. The primitive man began to shout in a loud voice and told others. The others were scared about that., the primitive man said that someone who had incomplete hand fingers was a demon and that would curse them bad. After a long conversation, they ultimately him and let him away from their village.

The emperor was running at its top speed to get the terrible village. Fortunately, he was able to find the way to his palace and finally was safe. With the exhaustion striking him, he went to jail and told the guard to be free of the Prime Minister. He was so sad and apologized to the Prime Minister. The Emperor then told him what he had experienced a few moments ago in the primitive village. He realized that if he didn't lose his pink, maybe he had burned and death. He knew the good his little finger to get rid of because he had saved his fingers through his incomplete.

When the Prime Minister was asked about his mind when he was sent to prison, he replied with his favorite words, "it is very very good, my Emperor. If I was not in prison, I might go hunting with you and we both would be caught by the primitive men. Because I had full finger, I'd be burned down and died. I am so happy and my life is saved by the Emperor sends me to prison. Thanks a lot, my Emperor. "

Notice to readers:

Every day, every hour, every minute and every second, something happens. Everything always change, no matter is it good or bad. We believe that we have ever witnessed or something good or bad in our own lives. What is good is coming to us, we will be happy as the face of this world full of confidence. We need positive thinking when something good happens. And when something bad to us, we will behave differently. We will negative thinking, feeling, emotion or at all and we'll probably see this world worse. We know that we, or anyone in this world must have had something bad striking us. No one has never experienced something bad in their lives. However, we must know and realize that when we're in bad feeling, emotion, mood or thinking, it will not help us to overcome the problem and the problem we are facing won't go away from us. Clearly, we must think that it is much better to positive thinking than negative thinking when the problem to us. By having positive thinking, will give us the world a better place, we will be happier, we think clearly and wise, and eventually we will find the way to solve that problem. When we are governed by our negative thinking, we will be in more trouble and everything is not going to be better. You now have the choice of positive or negative thinking. You are fully responsible for your own life.

There is a law of universe that right is called opposite. This law specifies that everything in this world always has two sides opposite. So that we can say that for each negative or bad thing, there will be positive or good thing, bad-good, sad-happy, poor-rich, failure-success, positive-negative, etc.. No one can break this law. This law works for everyone and everything in this universe. All we can do is the best we can in response to what is happening with us. Remember, what happens to us will be different, but our attitude in response to what's going on with our huge change will happen to our lives. We will give the meaning of what is happening with us. We can do it in positive or negative way. Again, it depends on you to decide what your stance is something that happens to you. Everything does not make sense until you the meaning or good or bad. It is better to remove all negative things out of your mind. Always positive and you will see the changes in your life and realize that it will make your life easier.

Seeds of success-a man can make a difference?

Growing up in a middle class family of seven was a learning experience that caused me to think often about the whole issue of success and motivation. Our family was a microcosm of the different income levels ranging from wealth too low middle class. I researched the motivations (or lack) of those within these layers and here is what I discovered: somewhere in the lives of those who aspire to the top is an underlying reason why they need to Excel. Their reason is governed by two factors, craving for more, and fear of loss.

These types are, in a Word, driven. They can't sit still until they reach a certain goal and as soon as that goal is attained a new target larger than the first. Those of us who want to succeed can learn from these motivated people.

I've learned from my uncle Charlie (the Millionaire of the family) who gave me great advice. On one occasion I was visiting his factory and he shared some thoughts. He told me that since the Federal Reserve creating mini depression I could count on recurring booms and busts in the economy and should plan accordingly. When I look back at his company, I see exactly how he followed this advice.

Although the economy is booming and that he saved cash when the economy was a down-turn he would get a great price on new equipment and a new building. This has happened every time! Het verbaasde me; others would act like chicken little to say "the economy will never recover this time" or "it can take 10 years to pull off this" but Uncle Charlie just kept on building right through the apparent worst of times. His company grew bigger and better every time.

Uncle Charlie was one of the most honest and decent people I've ever known and this was a big factor in his success. When he said that he would do he did it. If a customer had an issue he solved it. He stood behind his work! Everyone knew she could count on him.

Uncle Charlie grew during the great depression and watched as people were fired from their jobs. He decided the only way to prevent such a phenomenon in his life would be like to own a business.
He reasoned that company may delay, but he would still be some customers who need work. He was right. There's always movement in the economy ...All the time. It stops never completely!

What motivated Uncle Charlie?

Motivation means two things; desire to better our situation and desire to reduce discomfort. Some call it just greed or fear. I think that's too simplistic ... base, really. The term greed is according to me far too negative. Use Skype to call Uncle Charlie greedy because he wanted to be a great service for its customers and a great legacy of his family would be very wrong.

He was very rich in the process and that was a result of excellence in all its contacts. He was a win, win, win, win, win ... always win for everyone who knew him. If you've dealt with him were you getting a quality product at a fair price. If you worked for him got you a fair wage (above Union rates!). Full honesty is what you got from Uncle Charlie.

Uncle Charlie just as everyone had to struggle with desire for more and fear of loss. He told stories of equipment break or workers who are unreliable and leaving him responsible for great work orders. Through it all he rose to difficult situations.

Desire for more and fear; There's always a battle rages between these two motivations. Sometimes fear motivation WINS and people do nothing. Sometimes the desire for more WINS and great things are achieved. If there is something to be run one should go ahead and do it.

As Uncle Charlie had focused on fear he himself would have said "a machine could break or an employee can stop or I could make a mistake" and if he had let that fear his company would never have already started!

But, uncle Charlie was the kind of person who once he got the idea that he was something that was going to happen. Here is an example; sometime during the 1930s, he went to University to study chemical engineering. At that time the only chemistry books were from Germany and were written in German! So, uncle Charlie German learned and passed chemistry!

Only three in his entire class achieves this. Oh yeah, his family did not have much so he made his way through the school worked. HE WORKED HARD!

Uncle Charlie believed that a solution for every problem. He loved elaboration of methods for production. He loved new more efficient systems. He loved creating products for his clients. He loved his family and taught them well. I remember meeting a woman who is one of Uncle Charlies sons had met and they raved about what a real gentleman who he was. That statement came right off the top. I don't mean Uncle Charlie. I mean the one above him.

I learned a lot from Uncle Charlie and I hope that I've been pretty sharing the opinion of this great man.

Let me quickly recap:

1. There is a solution to every problem

2. Our boom and bust economy is artificially created by the actions of the Federal Reserve. Plan accordingly: saving during the good times and bargains for the growth of your company during the downturn.

3. see the big picture and not an occasional glitch let stop you.

4. focus on a positive result because your goal like every part of life; the vast majority is positive with a small setback to spice up the thrown.

5. be honest in all your dealings and stand behind your work.

6. continually strive to improve.

7. let love be your engine ... for your family, customers, employees ... o your best to treat everyone equally.

Looking back I realize Uncle Charlie had some great things figured out. He left this world but his company continues to grow bigger and better.

Bigger and better ... seems like a good goal for me!

I hope to share a bit about Uncle Charlie helps you on your way to success.
He has definitely helped me!

How to Get and stay motivated-simple top tips

Often the biggest challenge in achieving what we set out to do is to keep it going.  Just hold on task and not specify can sometimes feel a huge challenge.  The good news is, you're not alone in this many others feel the same. My years as a Personal and Professional coach I've come across many people who find stay on track a try and helped them to important, positive changes in their lives.  So today I want to share with you my principal strategies that you can get and stay motivated so you can achieve your goals.

How to Get and stay motivated

1. the first and perhaps most important is to check that you really want to achieve what you set out to achieve.

This means that not only do you really want the end result, but you're also willing to make the changes needed to achieve that – in other words, to put in the time and effort required.  Without this sense of desire, there will be little ' pull ' you to reach your goals, and also easy to specify.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how committed you are to achieve this goal? If you score just a 5 or 6, you have enough drive to get there you.  Ask yourself what you could do to raise your score at least one 8 and then set out to solve that.

If you find that you really don't have the desire, think again about your original goal-maybe it's too difficult a challenge at the moment, or maybe it's just the wrong goal for you.

2. ask yourself then a clear goal-exactly what you want to achieve and when?

For example, you want to drop a dress size in the next 8 weeks, or that there is sufficient energy, by the beginning of your holiday to be able to play with your kids for a whole afternoon, or by the confidence to go for the work you always dreamed of having this September?

Your goal may be a great, such as enough money to donate £ 1 m to charity-but it must be clear, time-bound and positive and one that you really want to achieve.  After clear objectives makes it much more likely that you will reach them.

3. then break your goal in all the small steps you take to achieve that goal so that each really feasible

For example, take 20 minutes of exercise 5 days a week, contact with 2 people about your business every day, cutting all fried food from your diet every weekday or get a good coach.  Then plan follows in your life and in your calendar so you commit to action.  And take your first step today!

4. make sure you have a positive mental attitude.

Stop for a moment to focus on the benefits of achieving your goal-all great things that can happen due to achieve what you set out to do.  For example, how will you really feel like you who dress size, which get extra energy, making £ 1 m, or that amount of trust drop?  And what difference would it make it for you?

Please take a moment to truly visualize how that will feel, experience that positive feelings.

5. really believe that you can reach your goal-' you can if you think you can '.

As Henry Ford once said: "whether you think you can, or you think you can not-you're right."  If you find yourself slipping in "negative talk", itself immediately stop and change them round to the positive-the ' glass half full "approach.  For example, if your enthusiasm begins to wane and you find yourself thinking about all the things you have not yet reached, take the time to really focus on the things you've done, the things that are good are gone, and achieving your goal difference.  Soon you will find it easier to get yourself and step up.

6. set yourself a reward for your achievements.

There may be times when your motivation, slipping even when you feel.  If this happens, or you can do it, to know there is a reward from looking at help-although of course no one who will be sabotaging your efforts, such as a large crème pie if your goal is to lose weight!

For example, if you find it difficult to commit to a 20-minute exercise a day, decide how you will reward yourself at the end of each session-perhaps watching a favorite TV program, meeting with a friend, reading a poignant book, a soak in a hot tub, or whatever.  Ask yourself a reward that motivate you through the difficult bit-and then enjoy celebrating your success!

Bonus Tip:

Get some support from someone to help you through the difficult bits.

Ask a friend, a colleague or a coach to you-to cheer, to talk and to help motivate you to help when the going gets tough.  It can make a real difference for someone there with you-so figuring out the right person for you and tell them your plans.  And use their enthusiasm to you on measures to be taken vis-à-vis your goals today!

The key to success-motivation and inspiration

Good people, bad attitudes

I'm just going to jump right in this. People want you to fail. Plain and simple. It sounds a bit harsh and unrealistic at first, but if you consider the following you will realize that it is true. While most people will not come out and say it directly, we as a culture indirectly bred to think this way. From the moment we are born, we are exposed to numerous media outlets that scream "no matter how much you have, it is not enough." We are trained from a very young age to believe that we have to look a certain way a certain thing, or problems have a certain way in order to be successful, or even, in many cases, "normal" Act. After years of being surrounded by this, our thoughts are destined to behave in a certain way. When a person of another persons success belongs, will be hundreds of thoughts immediately thrown around in their heads, including most negative will. No matter how well can you present an idea to a friend, 90% of the time which they will give you 1000 or more reasons why that idea won't work. They do not do this in a way that is direct and insulting and in fact usually portray it as an attempt to help you. "But have you thought about this?", "can you realize how much it costs?", "I'm trying just to help out", and so on. The fact is that they are trained to think that way because subconsciously their brain tells them that you can succeed, and leave them behind. It is a natural tendency that is very difficult to combat. Most people don't even realize what they are doing and really believe that they are by the provision of "logical" advice. But the fact is, unless they speak of 100% personal experience, the only "logical" advice that they are ideas that their brain has generated on the fly. They are good people, they just have bad mentality.

Getting your way

In the same way that other people are trying to get in the way of our success, we also have a tendency to get in the way of our own success. Having regard to the same principals as above, a lot of people over many years of exposure to contemporary culture begin to feel that no matter what they do, they will never have enough. As I've said, we are in principle brainwashed from a young age to believe we will never have enough, and after hearing this crap for so long, we have almost no choice but to believe that it is true.

Here's the truth. If you're not making a conscious effort to discover your skills, and other things that you own, you will inevitably fall into a State of mind that tells you that you are not better than anyone else. So many people actually believe they are not a thing altogether to offer of this world, and that's really a disease of the brain as I've ever heard of a. If you want to think that way, then you are just like everyone else. But I can assure you there is no fun in that. each of us have our own set of skills, ambitions and objectives and it's those things that make us aside from everyone. The fact is, however, that most people will not be applied to many of these skills, ambitions and objectives and therefore will fall into the same that 90% of the world falls into place. If any of us were the literal choice a day to conquer all of our goals and get the most out of life, or fall in contempt and die peacefully bored, would, of course, we choose the first. The truth is, however, we have that choice. Fortunately, we get to make that choice every day that we woke up. The sad truth is that most people will choose the second option. Why? Because it is easy. It's really easy to just get out of bed each day, go to work, eat, then going back to bed and do it over again the next day. We as a culture keep cycles. We love tradition. Why? Because we know what to expect. If we don't follow a routine, we would never know what to expect, and that makes a lot of people uncomfortable. But here's the truth. You can die peacefully bored, or you can live life with a bit of uncertainty and is very likely to change the world. Getting your way, you'll have great things to do.

OK I'm ready! Now what

If you are reading this right now and feel motivated and ready to go, great! But here's the thing. If you here, in a matter of a few days or even a few hours stops, you will fall back into the same malaise that you were in when you first started. It is absolutely necessary ...
