A Hopi Message And A Few Tears

Share/Bookmark

Yesterday when I woke up, I had a trio of dreams imprinted in my mind. This shook me to my core. I spent some time trying to work out the meaning of the dreams and why they were having such a profound effect on me. But after about thirty minutes, I shrugged and decided that the best idea was probably just to let go and allow the heaviness of the feeling to wash over me, no matter how much I didn’t really want it to.

This meant that I was probably going to go along crying through my day, feeling miserable and not at all in the mood to smile and be cheerful. I resented that this had to happen right now, when I had a full schedule. I wasn’t really feeling like this was an appropriate time for a meltdown!

But because I fully trust my practice, I know that the best thing for me is not to suppress or conceal whatever needs to be dealt with, but to go ahead and work through it and get things taken care of. I have to deal with whatever I have at the moment and allow myself to feel and heal as necessary. In this case it meant I cried all through my visit to the salon, before my radio show, after my radio show, during my acupuncture appointment, in my car . . . pretty much through the whole day.

And at the end of it all, I knew the message of the dreams. It was simple: I needed to have a cry. Nothing more sinister than that. I had some stuff simmering below the surface, some grief and sadness I hadn’t dealt with. Eventually, it boiled up to the surface and demanded my full attention. The difference between the me of now and the me of a decade ago is that these days I know that loving myself means allowing myself to feel okay about crying, okay about expressing any feeling that I need to express. The people who witnessed my crying responded in kind with Kleenex and hugs. Amazing how that happens!

When I checked my e-mail later in the day, I noticed that a friend had sent me this Hopi prayer. Even as soon as I had unburdened myself of my emotional baggage, gifts were already starting to come back to me in an expression of the Divine. I was so moved, I thought I’d share the prayer with you, just in case you have some things in your own heart that you need to deal with and could use a little encouragement. Enjoy!

“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour. Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered: Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relationship? Where is your water? Know your garden.

It is a time to speak your Truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader. This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river. See who is in there with you, and celebrate.

At this time in history we are to take nothing personally. Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word “struggle” from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

How to Change Your Life EASILY: One Little Thing at a Time (Video)

Share/Bookmark

Let’s face it, change is inevitable. The good changes. The bad changes. The really ugly changes.

Historically speaking,  ALL change has given humans  the opportunity to adapt and evolve  -  over tens of thousands of years  -  into who we are today. Sometimes the smallest, seemingly most insignificant changes have enabled humans to eventually make giant evolutionary leaps.

On both a collective and individual level, we create the change necessary to achieve our dreams. Yet even when change is desireable, we find that change is not always easy. . . .

YouTube Preview Image

Most people fail to achieve their dreams because their dreams are TOO BIG. Deciding to lose 50 pounds. Getting a college degree.  Owning a successful business. Those are all pretty tall orders.  Just thinking about the enormity of those big dreams can cause some people to psych themselves out. They see the entire mile of road stretched out in front of them. Their dream seems too far away, too distant to achieve. They become daunted and disheartened and give up before they start. Supersizing your dreams can have the unintended effect of preventing desireable change.

Remember when you were young and just learning to ride a bicycle? You weren’t popping wheelies the first day! You probably started out riding a little red tricycle. Then, when you got your first Big Kid bike, you rode around with training wheels for a few months. After the training wheels came off, dad steadied your bike until you learned to balance on your own. Little by little, you gained the confidence and the skills to perform fancy tricks – like riding with no hands . . . .  Okay, maybe not. The point is, you eventually achieved your goal by taking small steps and practicing every day. The same principle you used as a child applies to achieving your dreams today. Take baby steps. Small, achievable steps in the direction of your dream are easy to make. For example, instead of telling yourself that you have to lose 50 pounds, begin your commitment to a healthy lifestyle by adding a salad before every meal. Take a single night class to start working toward your college degree. Get to know the business you want to eventually own by starting in an entry-level position and working your way up. Doing one little thing at a time can turn that Mount Everest into a bunny slope. The Bonus: when you succeed at small things, your confidence builds, making it even EASIER to change your life!

The only way to make these little changes stick is to rewire your brain. You need to untrain your brain from its old habits, and retrain your brain for change.  But remember, old habits die hard! The best method for rewiring your brain is to practice, practice, practice. Practice your little step in the direction of your dream every single day for 30 days. This is how long it takes for changes to become wired into your brain. And you have to be disciplined. The 30 days have to be consecutive. No Fair Cheating! If you skip a day, you short-circuit your attempts at rewiring your brain. Be patient with yourself and with the process. You can make a decision at the end of the 30 days whether to commit to this change, if you believe the change has been positive. Finally, try this Experiment:  Make one small positive change that brings you closer to your goal every 30 days. Do this for one year. At the end of the year, look back and see how much your life has changed for the better!

What one little thing are you going to change? Let us know!

Hostility Blinds Us from Truth

Share/Bookmark

It is an interesting fact that the when we take a stake in an argument we often shut down open-minded thinking. Our minds seem to have a need to separate us into a “for” or “against” stance, which only serves to divide us against one another and keep the truth from being understood.

“If you want truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between “for” and “against” is the mind’s worst disease.”

– Sent-ts’an, Inspirational Quotes from Today Is That Day

My ability to remain calm often dictates my ability to remain reasonable. More importantly, my ability to keep my perspective accurate and my assessment honest keeps me fair and thoughtful, but I do this best when I don’t take sides on every occasion.

The outcome of such “for” or “against” thinking is that it keeps us from insight, understanding and truth. We see this divided thinking in religion with all the many different religions pitted against one another. We see it within a particular religion with its many different sects and denominations. We see it within our country through its divided political parties. And we see it within marriages when they end.

I have been afforded enough time in my life to have once, been for religion, and now skeptical of religion, for one political party and now another, to have been married then divorced. I’m moving toward another path, one where I don’t have to be “for” or “against”. I try to just be assertive and honest. I share my feelings and thoughts with the hope that the other person will work with me toward a solution and not against me. Of course I don’t believe I will change them. I simply hope that my authenticity will allow me to remain true to my intent.

I realized long ago that we can’t change people, we can change only ourselves. I don’t strive to be right, I strive to understand. I believe this approach helps me remain reasonable even when the other person isn’t. Personal change depends on our ability to take responsibility for our lives and make an honest and accurate assessment of life each and every day, especially when a major event shatters our dreams. Simply taking a stance against, or for something with the undesired result of blinding ourselves to truth both personal and real need not be the outcome. We need not be divided and fighting if we seek to understand rather than take sides.

Will Be The Law of Attraction Help In The Coming economic collapse?

The answer is Yes. During the coming economic collapse of the us in the coming crisis the Law of Attraction will become increasingly important. It is no coincidence that if the u.s. economy begins to unravel, the law of attraction so much attention.

The movie the secret, law of attraction in the public opinion on Oprah, Larry King, Ellen, etc.The idea that affects reality is not new. Latin say, Habes Et Quod Crede Habes--Believe You Have It And You Do--testifies of his long service life.

More recently, Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" and Norman Vincent Peale "the power of positive thinking" generations of Americans affected. but perhaps this generation, who are about to be affected by the collapse of the US economy, the largest need for this old idea, this "secret", in practice.

For those new to the idea that affects reality, thought, I want to say a few of my own experiences to tell:

In 1973, asked Marshall Thurber who I had met in Hastings Law School, me to read "The Lazy man's Way To Riches" by Joe Karbo. Joe was a used car dealer who had been in financial difficulties and is in danger of losing his house, his car, his or her assets, etc., when a friend gave him what turned out to be a way out, a set of instructions, a way of thinking that was Joe Karbo millions of dollars to ultimately bring.

Joe said he later became a millionaire through the mail order companies, but believed that the real reason for his success is the set of instructions for him a way of thinking that led him to the life he wanted out of financial difficulties.

In fact, the instructions That Joe Karbo introduction to what was the movie "the secret", a process that Joe described in "The Lazy Man road to riches", which more than three million copies sold.

Marshall and I followed instructions Joe's wedding and within three years Marshall was a billionaire and I retired. However, this was not a country that was the last. I learned that what I really wanted was "peace", the pursuit of that radically change my life.

In 1976 by Marshall I was introduced to the just published "course in miracles" (Marshall had borrowed them $ 5,000 for the first printing).1.5 million copies of the course are sold in 16 languages.

Because of the course in miracles, I believed now to peace ", I had to let go and trust". so I stopped all my goal setting, all my affirmations and "let go". what happened next was that I lost anything and everything.I realized later that at the time I had no idea what trust was. Now, I'm doing.

This, of course, 30 years ago happened and a lot has happened since that time.Marshall went to a friend of Nobel Laureate Buckminster Fuller, an associate of Edwards Deming (of which theories Japan is transformed into a industrial power), and many courses taught. Tony Robbins as Bob Kiyosaki belonged to its first students.

In 2005 The Positive Deviant convened Marshall, the PDN Network (a classic combination of thinkers "out-of-the-box") in Park City, UT. three of those present were Bill Harris, John Assaraf and Lee Brower, all three to be in the movie "The Secret".

It was also on the PDN in March 2007, where I "How To Survive The Crisis and profit In The Process", my analysis of the u.s. economy that the imminent collapse and the resulting problems for those unprepared predicts presented.

I would like to ask who's seriously interested is in the "secret" read "ask and It Is Given" by Esther Hicks, contained in the original version of The Secret appeared. There is no better book on this subject and there is no better time than now to read — you will have all the available resources to survive the crisis.

Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill-proven steps to wealth, money Secrets & the law of success

"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill is one of my favorite books and it is one of the all-time best-selling personal finance books in the world. I read this book in March 2007 and have decided to read it again this year. I love so much that I decided to be a review of it on my blog to write so I can back and remind myself of the main points and be inspired any time, anywhere in the world. I really appreciated five star of this book on Amazon.

I know that some people have read this book more than 10 times and some even more! It is amazing to see how popular this book. This book tries to inspire people to remember the motto "I am the master of my fate and the captain of my soul!"It has led and millions of people who are looking for specific goals and purposes in their lives and who want to become rich. Napoleon Hill's question to you is "what genius is asleep in your brain?"

What do you want most in your life? Is the money, fame, power, contentment, happiness and love?

This book is based on more than 25 years in cooperation with more than 500 of America's most distinguished and successful men of great wealth. Napoleon Hill interviewed some of these men who started from scratch. this rich men have explained that the philosophy of money making their thoughts, ideas and organised plans. They turned out to be the source and the secrets of their wealth to the author, and that was how this book was born.

1. desire, the starting point for all Achievement. You need to fix in your mind the exact amount of money you want, then determine what you plan to give in return. You must have a specific date when you plan to have at its disposal the money you want, and then create a definite plan. an explanation for the above and then your written statement read out loud twice a day; once when you are getting up in the morning and once before you go to bed.

2. faith, visualization of and faith in end of desire.Faith is one of the most powerful positive emotions and limiting beliefs can be removed. If you cannot take up your faith, wealth will start in the form of thinking.

3. Auto-suggestion, the normal time-limits for the influence of the subconscious mind. Please enter a value for the repeat of the Declaration of your first step hard each day with emotion or feeling and visualize in the possession of your desired money.

4. specialised knowledge, some Personal Experiences or perceptions. The book concludes that knowledge alone potential power and money, will not attract, unless it is organized and managed by means of concrete action plans with the final end of accumulation of money.

5. imagination, the workshop of the mind. An idea or a fantasy with action can be turned into reality.

6. Organized Planning, the Crystallisation of Desire in action. One of the big reasons why millions of people go through life in misery and poverty is because they do not have a good and intelligent plan through which tends to accumulate fortune.

7. decision, the management of Procrastination. The author found that most of these successful people had the habit of quickly to decisions, and these decisions is slowly changing when they need to be changed.

8. persistence, the sustained effort is needed to techniques Faith. Are the most common reasons for the failure in real life lack of persistence and the habit of leaving when we are facing temporary defeat. The reason that Thomas Edison was successful was because he did not stop, although he did "not" 10,000 times before he successfully invented the light bulb. You have 10,000 times laid down to try if you do not have anything to do?, in due course, defeat the planning to sail again and again to your purpose.

9. power of the Master Mind, the Driving Force.Working with a "Master Mind group" is the key to success. No man can achieve great success on its own, without the coordination of the knowledge and the efforts of others.

10. the secret of Sex transmutation.Sexual desire is the most powerful of human wishes. the desire for sexual contacts is as strong and urgent that men are free to decide whether or not the risk of reputation are enjoying life.Research has shown that most men who have been very successful and have excellent results have been achieved highly sexed men who their energy and inspiration of the women they love.

11. the subconscious, the connection link. There are seven very powerful positive emotions such as desire, faith, love, sex, romance, enthusiasm and hope. our minds should be injected with this positive emotions to understand, control, and overcoming the most negative emotions such as fear, jealousy, hatred, revenge, greed, superstition and anger.

The investigation found the author that wealth when they are in large quantities, are not the result of hard work! Wealth, clear requirement, based on the application of certain principles, and not by chance or luck. that is the reason why this book is titled "Think and Grow Rich", but not as a "Work Hard and Grow Rich".

There are six basic take care of each one of us and fear of poverty is the strongest. Recent research also shows that it is not a terrorist attack that people fear the most, but it is the fear of running out of money when they retired.

This book is about money, and some people claim that wealth not only be measured in money. However, most people would say "give me all the money that I want, and then I find everything that I need."Money is power, and it goes! that is the reason why this book is still one of the best selling personal financial books of all time!

Simplify, and Savor Life

Savor the simple.

‘The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth, dwelling deeply in the present moment and feeling truly alive.’ ~Thich Nhat Hanh

These days we have an abundance of luxuries, but I’ve found that excess actually decreases my enjoyment of life.

Sure, we can get massive amounts of rich foods, feasting to our heart’s content, stuffing ourselves in alarming displays of gluttony … but is that really enjoyable on a regular basis?

And yes, television can be fun, and so can ridiculously large parts of the Internet, but if it’s always on, if we’re always connected, doesn’t that lower the fun factor?

Excesses lead to all kinds of problems, but the biggest problem is that life is less enjoyable.

I’ve been finding that simplifying things means I can savor life more fully.

Savoring life starts with a mindset. It’s a mindset that believes that excess, that rushing, that busy-ness, that distractedness, isn’t ideal. It’s a mindset that tries instead to:

simplifydo & consume lessslow downbe mindful & presentsavor things fully

It’s the little things that make life enjoyable: a walk with a loved one, a delicious book, a chilled plum, a newly blooming tree.

And by simplifying, we can savor life to the fullest.

Some ideas I’ve been considering lately:

1. Coffee: Instead of ordering a latte, mocha, cappuccino with whipped cream and cinnamon and shavings … simplify. Just get pure, good coffee (or espresso), brewed fresh with care and precision, with quality beans, freshly roasted. Make it yourself if you can. Drink it slowly, with little or nothing added, and enjoy it thoroughly.

2. Tea: I recently had tea with Jesse Jacobs, the owner of Samovar Tea Lounge, and he poured two different teas from tiny tea pots: Nishi Sencha 1st Flush and Bai Hao Oolong tea. It was fresh, hand-made tea from real leaves, not a tea bag, and it was simply delicious. Drink it slowly, with your eyes closed, fully appreciating the aroma … wonderful.

3. Workouts: I’ve been a fan of simpler workouts recently. While others might spend an hour to 90 minutes in the gym, going through a series of 10 different exercises, I just do 1-3 functional exercises, but with intensity. So I might do some sprint intervals, or a few rounds of pushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats. Or 400 meters of walking lunges. Let me tell you, that’s a simple but incredible workout. Another I like: five rounds 85-lb. squat thrusters (10 reps) alternated with pushups (10 reps). Today’s workout was three rounds of 15 burpees and 800-meter runs. No rest unless you need it. These are great workouts, but very simple, and very tough. I love them.

4. Sweets: I used to be a sugar addict. Now I still enjoy an occasional dessert, but in tiny portions, eaten very slowly. What I enjoy even more, though, is cold fruit. A chilled peach, some blueberries, a few strawberries, a plum: eat it one bite at a time, close your eyes with each bite, and enjoy to the fullest. So good.

5. Meals: While the trend these days is super-sized meals of greasy, fried things (more than two people need to eat actually), I have been enjoying smaller meals of simplicity. Just a few ingredients, fresh, whole, unprocessed, without chemicals or sauces. My meals usually include: a breakfast of steel-cut oats (cooked) with cinnamon, almonds, and berries; a lunch of yogurt, nuts, and fruit; a dinner of beans or tofu with quinoa and steamed veggies (or sauteed with garlic and olive oil). These simple meals are better because not only are they healthy, each ingredient can be tasted, its flavor fully enjoyed.

6. Reading: While the Internet is chock full of things to read, I’ve been enjoying the simplicity of a paper book, borrowed from the library or a friend (borrowing/sharing reduces natural resources consumed). When I read online, I read a single article at a time, using either the Readability or Clippable bookmarklet to remove distrations, and in full-screen mode in the Chrome browser (hit Cmd-Shift-F on the Mac version or F11 in Windows). It’s pure reading, no distractions, and lovely.

If you liked this guide, please bookmark it on Delicious or share on Twitter. Thanks, my friends.
